The house has previously been extended to the rear and is now undergoing further alterations and maintenance. Our brief was to increase the entrance size and enhance its image, giving the house a stronger identity,  and to bring more natural light to the inner hall.

The new Portal entrance replaces a small pitched tile roof over a rendered porch. The cantilevered roof is partly glazed and the panels on the main column and roof fascia are in pressed pre-patinated Quartz zinc with the contrasting inner elevation in narrow Iroko hardwood batons.

The design incorporates cloak and boot storage and a new posting box and nightime illumination. A thick slate threshold mirrors the canopy roof above and ties in with the over sized slate step approach.
