CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY NEW LABOROTORIES
The new Physics buildings occupies a significant and extensive site within the overall West Cambridge Masterplan. The building includes six enclosed landscape courtyards and an extensive raised entrance plaza. Particular attention has been paid to the environment, with the scheme designed to achieve a BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) Excellent rating. Perimeter landscape design incorporates ecological and rain harvesting areas and extensive streetscape design and cycle parking provision. The project will help strengthen the university’s position as a leading site for physics research and will provide a world-class facility for the nation. Building architect Jestico & Whiles.
