The kitchen images seen here are from our projects over the last few years.
Kitchens are a core part of many of our residential, refurbishment and new build projects. We specify complete kitchens from the leading manufacturers, and we work with the customisation of standard kitchens.
We oversee the manufacture of bespoke kitchens made by leading design brands, and the replication of these by local workshops closer to the project locations.
The last ten years have seen developments by new kitchen companies supplying products to enhance the standard carcases supplied by leading retailers.
New kitchen manufactures have focused on a more bespoke product using predominantly timber hand crafted elements to produce kitchens with good environmental provenance. Such kitchens dont have to be typified as the 'country kitchen' craft skill and quality carpentry can equally be applied to contemporary design.

Our approach to kitchens is based on aspects of ergonomic design, ease of use, integration of scale with the building plan arrangement and a focus on materials and aesthetics that go beyond short term trends.
How we use our kitchen facilities has a direct bearing on designing them. We work with our clients to find solutions that will make the best use of appliances, working areas, storage and ambience. Kitchens need to work hard and look good.
We have designed ‘quiet’ kitchens, suitable for open plan living, these use drawer materials to dampen sound and employ appliances with low decibel ratings. We imported damping technology for drawers before it was widely available in the UK. Simple materials that are relatively inexpensive often work best. Where it works to use standard products we use them often adapting with bespoke parts such as drawers and worktops.

CASE STUDY:Â
MAIN KITCHEN / UTILITY KITCHEN
At the wrapped house we looked at a different way to design the kitchen. By manipulating the ground floor layout of the main space we were able to include a huge capacity for storage, groceries and refridgeration in a second 'back-of-house' kitchen (utility) without this imposing on the simplicity and uncluttered character of the main Hub Space.
The 'front-of-house' kitchen is a simple wall with ovens (oven wall) and an island worktop in front for cooking eating and entertaining.

The kitchen at Cricketfield Lane sits under the new rooflight glazing and is flooded with natural light. The natural plaster finish and the oiled oak shelf extend the full lenght of the worksurface. Bronze tap and Quartz worktop sit on the cabinets finished in Obsidian Green.
